Daddy had an early morning meeting, but then Mommy and Jonathan met him at school. Jonathan missed his morning nap and was quite cranky, but he fell asleep in the car really quickly after lunch and took a good nap. Daddy’s thesis is finished and accepted!

We woke up to no Internet! Ten years ago that first line wouldn’t have made you blink an eye, but now… Our ISP was down, and so were we. Daddy worked on finishing up his thesis paper, and Mommy and Jonathan played and worked around the house. Mommy got a new scrap-book bag.

Daddy had to go out of town all day, but he made it back in time to play with Jonathan for a few minutes before bedtime. Jonathan learned to use the rail to walk down the stairs.

The three of us went to church this morning, then out to eat with Courtney and Brittany at CiCi’s Pizza. Mommy and Daddy were impressed with the Mac & Cheese Pizza, but Jonathan didn’t care too much for it (but he ate Mac & Cheese for dinner - silly boy). He took a good nap this afternoon, and he and Daddy got rained on while taking a walk around the neighborhood this evening.

Jonathan slept in until just about 9 this morning, and then got up and watched cartoons and a “show” with Daddy. Jonathan liked the Happy Monster Band song Get Up and Go, and was pumping his fist in the air along with the song. Now Daddy just has to teach him to yell, “Freebird!” We all three went to church this afternoon for a surprise birthday party for Andrew (Happy 40th man!) and then Mommy stayed to work on scrapbook pages with some friends while Daddy and Jonathan headed home.
After his nap, Jonathan and Daddy went outside to look for the “boons” (balloons). The launch was delayed this morning because of rain, so they lifted off after 6:30, and even drifted our way. We came home and played in the yard. Daddy was turning over some dirt so Mommy can start planting flowers, and Jonathan wanted to help. While Daddy was working, he noticed Jonathan bend down and put his hand up to his mouth - yup, he ate his first (and hopefully last) dirt today. See what fun Mommy missed? He spat it out pretty quickly, but wiped his fingers on his cheek, which you can kind of see in one of tonight’s pictures. Needless to say we spent some time brushing our teeth tonight.

Only 8 more months till Christmas! Today was an interesting day. This morning Jonathan woke up out of sorts, just generally grouchy. He skipped his morning nap, and then Amy E. came by to drop off the exersaucer, one of Jonathan’s old toys that we had loaned them. Jonathan was happy to see it back.
This afternoon the three of us went to meet Papa for dinner. He had been working in the state and was coming through town to go to the airport. When we sat down to eat, Jonathan was a little agitated, and didn’t want to sit in his high-chair. That soon changed to full-out crying, painful crying. Daddy tried to calm him down, Mommy tried, and Papa tried, but no success. We left the resteraunt to go visit Daniel, Robyn, and Thomas, and Jonathan screamed the whole way to their house! So when we got there, Robyn gave Jonathan some Motrin to settle him down, but it didn’t help, and he was still screaming. Mommy and Daddy were scared something was wrong, so we called the doctor’s office and took him to an acute care center. By the time we reached the waiting room, he had settled down, but we noticed he didn’t want to walk, or even to stand up - not really normal. When we took off his shoes, one of his toes was really red, but then he started to walk. Who knows what was wrong.
We had planned to go see some hot-air baloons, and ended up going. Jonathan did fine the rest of the night. He crashed on the way home.

Daddy and Jonathan got up and ate breakfast while watching Playhouse Disney this morning. But Jonathan soon started saying, “Show,” which is his word for the Baby Einstein DVDs. We wen with Mommy for a walk around the neighborhood this morning and then Jonathan took a more-than three hour nap. His schedule was off, so he didn’t eat much for dinner and was slap-happy by 5:30.
